Local Resources & Support Groups

Willow House (Arlington Heights)

Offers a group for children ages 3-18 who are grieving the death of a mom, dad, brother or sister, adult groups for the young widowed, and groups for those who are grieving the death of a child. Childcare for children younger than 3 years of age is available.

Northwest Community Healthcare 

Support groups include Begin Again (for widows and widowers), Compassionate Friends (self help organization for bereaved parents), L.O.S.S. (for survivors of suicide), Northwest Suburban Pregnancy Loss Support Group and the State's Attorney Support Group (families of victims of murder, reckless homicide and hit and run).

Offers support groups for adults and children as well as a CareCenter for kids.

Provides information and referral, counseling, in-home case management, public benefit screening and the L.O.S.S. program (loving outreach to suicide survivors).

Bereavement services include: support groups, counseling and correspondence programs.

Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital

Provides resolve through sharing bereavement services, life after stroke support groups and an Alzheimer’s support group.
